Wand Browser Support

Need help, found a bug or have a feature request? Email support-wand@hito.ai or open a GitHub issue.

Include your iPhone model, iOS and Wand versions, steps to reproduce, and relevant website and device or tag model. Remove private information from screenshots and logs. Never send passwords, recovery phrases, private keys or sensitive tag contents. GitHub issues are public.

Getting started

Requires iOS 18 or later. Bluetooth and NFC require a physical iPhone and compatible hardware. Try Wand hardware fixtures in Wand or visit Wand product page.

Bluetooth device not appearing or connecting

Enable Bluetooth in iPhone Settings and allow Wand access. Keep the device nearby, awake and advertising. Website filters and services must match it; the fixture only lists names starting with hito or Hito. Choose the device in Wand’s native picker; pairing in Settings alone does not grant website access. If connection fails, check for connections elsewhere and retry. Wand supports a subset of Web Bluetooth using BLE GATT services and characteristics.

NFC tag not reading or writing

Start the website’s scan and hold a compatible NDEF tag near the top of your iPhone while the system NFC interface is open. Keep Wand in the foreground; restart scanning if the timed session ends. Writing needs a writable NDEF tag with enough capacity and replaces existing contents: use your own test tags. Web NFC does not read payment cards or emulate NFC cards.

Website permissions

Hardware APIs require a top-level HTTPS page and Wand in the foreground; embedded frames cannot use the bridge. Approve the website request and choose the Bluetooth device to share. Access ends on navigation to a new document, reload, backgrounding or revocation in Site controls. Request access again afterwards. Check Site controls if access was denied.

Clear website data or browsing history

Use Site controls → Clear website data to remove storage, cookies and caches. This can sign you out and removes saved per-site fullscreen preferences. Use Clear beside Recent pages on the home screen to remove browsing history. These are separate actions.
